Blogmas Day 1: Welcome and What to Expect

Hello and a very warm welcome to Blogmas 2021!

Those who were subscribed to the Pro Clerking email list last year may remember the 12 days of Blogmas series. Well, this year I’m bumping the series up to a new blog post every weekday of December leading up to Christmas – that’s 18 days of FREE content delivered directly to your inbox! PLUS I’m excited to announce that this year’s Blogmas series will be in collaboration with Governors’ Virtual Office (GVO) – a cloud-based tool designed specifically for school and college governing bodies (find out more below).

What to expect

Once again, this year’s Blogmas series will be full of hints, tips and (of course) plenty of freebies to help enable, empower and equip you in your role as Clerk, Governance Professional and/or Company Secretary.  You will receive 18 days of FREE content plus signposts to where you can find even more information.  You will be invited to get involved, ask questions and share and receive examples of best practice from your peers in addition to receiving up to date information, templates and training from Pro Clerking and GVO with a bit of fun sprinkled in along the way.

How do I get involved?

A new Blogmas post will be posted every weekday of December up until Christmas and shared on the Pro Clerking Facebook and Instagram pages or to guarantee you don’t miss a single post (to read daily or access at a later date) why not subscribe to the Pro Clerking email list?

About Pro Clerking

Pro Clerking was formed to provide high-level support to Governance Professionals, Clerks and Company Secretaries in the UK education sector. We understand the importance of good Clerking on the smooth running and efficiency of any Governing Body or Trust Board and offer workshops, coaching, resources and bespoke packages to support and raise the profile and standards of Clerking in the UK.

You may have already heard about our popular Clerking with Confidence Workshops which run every short term.  These online workshops not only offer an opportunity for Clerks to network, develop their knowledge and skills and be supported in a friendly, intimate group but also include updates from the DfE, pertinent actions for the time of year and exclusive FREE resources as well as first looks and offers for upcoming products and services.

About Governors’ Virtual Office

Wherever you are on your journey to outstanding governance, Governors’ Virtual Office (GVO) can help you.

From providing a secure location to keep your governors’ information available online at all times, to helping governors become more engaged with the school and its governance. Enabling governors to arrive at meetings fully informed and creating time to spend on focused debate of strategic issues means that GVO can be a great aid to the effectiveness and efficiency of governance.

Governors’ Virtual Office also supports the work of the Clerk and provides process workflows to help Governors fulfil routine tasks more efficiently.

With better information and more time Governors can focus better on fulfilling their core roles of setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and evaluating school performance.
